Dear Girls on the Run caregivers,
We're excited to share what your GOTR participant will learn in Lessons 9-12 as they continue to build relationships and confidence.
YOUR GOTR GIRL’S LEARNING JOURNEY: AT HOME AND BEYOND
In Lessons 9–12 of Bold Heart, your child will continue growing their Bold Heart by learning how to communicate, listen, and support others.
They’ll begin by becoming a Bold Sharer—exploring different communication styles, practicing assertive communication, and learning how to use their voice in confident and respectful ways.
They’ll also focus on friendship and conflict, learning how to express what’s in their heart using the “I Feel” tool and how honest communication can strengthen relationships.
Next, in Bold Listening, your child will practice listening with care, empathy, and respect, learning how paying attention to others helps everyone feel seen and understood.
Finally, they’ll wrap up the season with their Practice 5K lesson, where they’ll celebrate how much they’ve grown, support their teammates, and put their Bold Heart skills into action together.
PRACTICE 5K
The teams are moving, grooving, and letting their Bold Hearts shine as they gear up for the end-of-season 5K! Many teams will be hosting their practice 5K very soon. During this fun event, girls will put everything they’ve learned all season into action, practicing their Bold Heart skills, achieving personal goals, and supporting their teammates along the way. It’s a wonderful opportunity to join the excitement, whether you’re running alongside, handing out water, or cheering from the finish line. Check in with your coaches to find out when your team’s practice 5K will be and how you can help make it a special celebration!
